Tailwarden's inventory is the cornerstone of our platform, offering transparent insights into all your resources. This feature is the starting point for many Tailwarden functionalities, providing full transparency across your cloud infrastructure. With a powerful filtering and alerting system, it enables precise monitoring of costs and usage for any subset of your infrastructure.

Let's review this page element by element

Dynamic Content

High-Level Stats

The top row displays high-level statistics about your infrastructure, or a subset of it, once filters are applied.

The table is refreshed every hour to ensure up-to-date information.

The table lists all resources in the selected part of your infrastructure, providing key information. The columns include:

  • Resource: the name of the resource

  • Service: the type of service

  • Region: the region where the resource is located

  • Account: the cloud account where the resource is located

  • Cost: the current monthly cost in $

  • Last 24h cost: the last 24h cost in $

  • Last month cost: the last month cost in $

  • Virtual tags: the list of virtual tags. Check out this page to learn more about virtual tags

  • Provider tags: the list of tags on your CSP for this resource

  • Created at: the creation date for this resource. Please be advised that the creation date is not available for every resource

Remember to scroll right for additional columns!

Parameters

Filtering the table

At the top, a filter bar allows you to slice and dice your infrastructure as needed. Whether you need resources for a specific team, product, region, or tag, you can set this up in seconds. For a deep dive into filtering capabilities, please refer to this page.

Changing table columns

You can easily modify the columns displayed in the inventory or views by clicking the designated button. Learn more here.

Saving filters as a view

Upon adding a filter, a "Save view" button appears.

Views are a building block of tailwarden - you will find those in many different features. So let's learn about them here and create views per team / product!

Exporting data as CSV

By clicking the "..." button on the top right, you can export the data shown in the table as a CSV file. For details on the file structure, please refer to this page.
